The Wu’s Head Massage Therapy Program is an advanced training curriculum grounded in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Designed for serious learners and healthcare professionals, the program focuses on the meridians and acupoints of the head, face, neck and ears, integrating classical theory with standardized, clinically tested techniques. Participants develop a rigorous understanding of TCM head massage methods while cultivating the precision, safety and professionalism required for modern clinical practice.

Program Curriculum

Introduction to Wu’s Head Massage Therapy

An overview of the history, development, theoretical origins, and distinctive features of Wu’s Head Massage Therapy, including its evolution from folk practice to a structured professional training system.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory

A foundational study of Yin-Yang, the Five Elements, meridian theory, Qi and blood circulation, and the holistic health philosophy behind Wu’s Head Massage Therapy.

Meridian, Acupoint & Reflex Area Study

Training in the meridians, acupoints, and reflex areas related to the head, face, neck, and ears, including the study of 40 key acupoints and facial organ-reflex mapping based on classical TCM theory.

Core Manual Techniques

Hands-on training in commonly used techniques such as kneading, pressing, finger pressure, tapping, rubbing, stretching, rolling, and smoothing methods, with emphasis on proper strength, rhythm, direction, and technique.

Standardized 60-Step Technique System

A systematic study of the complete 60-step technique sequence of Wu’s Head Massage Therapy, including operation order, key points, transitions between techniques, and practical application.

Self-Massage & Health Maintenance

Instruction in basic head self-massage techniques, as well as eye, nose, ear, and head health maintenance methods for daily wellness and relaxation.

Beauty, Anti-Aging & Wellness Applications

An introduction to the principles of facial wellness, beauty care, anti-aging applications, head and facial circulation, relaxation, and holistic balance within the WHM system.

Practical Review & Assessment

Comprehensive review of the 60-step techniques, hands-on practice, instructor feedback, correction of common technique issues, theoretical review, and final course assessment or certification evaluation.

Education Standards and Evaluation

Theory and Concepts

Learners delve into the core principles of Wu’s Head Massage Therapy, encompassing Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy, meridian pathways, acupoint locations, and facial reflex zones, while exploring the vital connections between the upper body regions and internal organ health.

Skill Application

Participants engage in immersive hands-on training to master essential manual methods and the rigorous 60-step protocol. Training highlights precise execution, sequential flow, appropriate pressure, rhythmic consistency, and a commitment to professional safety.

Elective Learning

This curriculum is available as an elective within the Traditional Chinese Medicine department at the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, allowing students to sharpen their expertise in targeted therapeutic massage for the head, face, neck, and ears.

Final Grading

The concluding evaluation consists of a theoretical written exam paired with a practical skill demonstration. Candidates must prove their mastery of both complex TCM concepts and the physical application of massage techniques to earn their credentials.
